I don't think the "left-wing liberals" are missing the point at all. All they are saying is that staying home full time is not a possibility for a lot of people, for a lot of reasons. The inability to do so does not make someone an unfit parent. And the reverse is true, too: just because you can afford to stay home with your child doesn't mean you're fit to parent. People--women and men-- just need to have choice.
