I am a stay at home mother of 3 (16, 13, and 11) and I do find this time hectic. You should see the pile of papers on my kitchen counter. It's just busy and there's lots of things to plan out and attend to. But when this flurry is over, I know I'll get some peace and quiet again during the days at least and things will start to work smoothly, as long as I make the right decisions now, and we don't take on too much.
My biggest secret has been to get the kids to do more of the work and planning now that they're older. My husband works long hours and does the sport activities on the weekend but most of the time, it's me.
