This is one of those media issues that don't resonate with me and my friends at all. We stay home and we like it when the kids go back, because by the end of the summer, it's time. And it's really not a lot of work, just some organizing and scheduling, which is easier for us I think since that's already part of our job and not extra on top of another job. Sometimes the schools expect parents to come in for the first day and my husband comes too and takes time off from work that day, but it's really not a big deal.
